How long has First Step Actors been in operation?
The First Step Actors' Workshop has been operating since Spring 1999.
Do I need experience to join?
Experience is not necessary, but desire and dedication is!
Do you have classes for all ages?
Classes range in age from 8 to 80 years in three programs: Youth, Teen and Adult class size is maximum 12 students; Youth and Teen. Classes run 4:30—6:30 PM; Adult classes run 7:30– 9:30 PM.
How much do classes cost?
Tuition is $195.00 per month, processed on the 1st of each month.
Do you have classes all year?
The First Step programs are ongoing 11 months a year. There is no start or stop, anyone is welcome to join us at any time.
Do you offer summer camps?
The First Step Youth program breaks into week-long camp weeks in July.
Are you instructors trained in first aid?
All Instructors at the First Step are First Aid certified.
Do you assist with industry connections?
This program is predominantly focused on the development of personal self-confidence and awareness. Although we are happy to assist Artists in the pursuit of Agents, Auditions and work, we will not make specific referrals of Industry Professionals. We can help you get there for sure, although we do not provide Industry connections as part of our program, i.e.: Agents, Casting Directors, Photographers etc…
Do you offer services to help coach for projects or demo taping?
The First Step offers professional
services for actors including
coaching and taping.
I want to audition for parts, where do I look?
If you are in search of Independent audition opportunities, we recommend you visit Vancouver Actors Guide, or film and trade schools and inquire as to when their student film are in casting. These are great opportunities for all actors.
Do you have facility rentals?
The First Step facility is available for rental.
We have a dog on the premises, her name is Ally and she is VERY friendly and loving.
