Acting class is a heck of a lot of fun and inspires a great deal of play.

Acting as an art-form, is defined as “living truthfully under imaginary circumstances; the art of being and doing.” It’s also a fun artistic endeavour that invites courage, curiosity, empathy, freedom of expression, a desire to connect, listen, feel and reciprocate.

This experience can produce big emotions, and participants should be aware that the great can work trigger our walls and provide powerful opportunities for growth and personal discovery and development.

In our Acting Class you will require respect for self, and respect for others, and respect for the work. We also have an “all-in” rule of participation.

Although we work with scripts and props and hundred different exercises, the actual source of this work is YOU. The person that YOU are dictates the amazing journey we will go on together.

In acting class, we play hard. We laugh a lot, and sometimes we share a cry. In acting class, we are safe to be authentic, real, and thoughtful. We are always accepted and honoured for who we are and encouraged to realize our best intention. We are always welcome to take our time…and encouraged to jump with our innate instinct!

Our objective in acting, is to not be acting, which might require us to put our phones away, take our masks off and be truly present in this moment…not as a performer, but as the person we already are. In this studio, the participant, and the process, is respected and supported throughout the sometimes challenging, but always exciting foray into their work and play of imagination, story, and character.

As participants, we require a safe place to nurture and explore our natural-born gifts of humanity and art. As classmates, we must offer respect, trust, and personal accountability; full commitment to these pillars is your lifetime membership here.

Whether you’re nine of ninety, beginner or experienced, we welcome you aboard. It is our objective that your acting class is the best day of your week; that you come in curious and walk out proud.

Come to class five minutes early, get yourself settled and ready; rise to this occasion of your best and truest self, and make memories with lifelong friends. It’s going to be a magical class…and it’s gonna go by fast. Be here now.

A couple things that would help to know ahead of time:

Am I truly interested in the craft of Acting? Does living truthfully under imaginary circumstances, connecting with others and exercising my vulnerability and curiosity sound appealing to me? Do I have any concerns that I should share with the instructors before participating? Am I ready to be All In, and am I at a place in my life where it is safe to do so?

Think of it as Judgment-free adventure where you are truly free to be exactly who you are, and experience all that you encounter, without consequence. Be ready to be moved, inspired and proud of yourself; be ready to be alive.

It’s two hours that will feel like thirty minutes, but to really reap the full benefits, you will need to be- here- now.

What you can expect from us, is that we are completely committed to seeing you, hearing you, supporting and respecting you, and providing a safe and nurturing space in which your inner artist is free explore, experiment, and experience. We are not going to show you how; YOU are going to teach us why.

Acting class is a total blast; You are absolutely invited 😄

The First Step name is often understood as representing a “beginners experience”, and though we welcome beginners with wide-open arms, the idea of The First Step has nothing to do with what’s on a persons resume.

The First Step refers to our approach, as people, to each and everything we do, in each moment we do it; taking our authentic first step, according to our authentic best idea of our best selves, at every turn.

“Acting Class can save the world” is quite a statement. Granted. But consider the fundamentals of acting class: courage, respect, empathy, accountability, listening, love, curiosity…and the list goes on.

In Acting Class, Artists from all walks of life, come together, to connect, share, and lean into the fundamentals of this powerful work, without ego or the need to protect, or to control the narrative.

Art imagines a world, where we are allowed to realize our authentic first step, based on our innate knowledge of our deeper selves. I am, therefore, I do.

It’s the knowledge of “I am” and the experience of “I do” and the conduit to the source of our instinctive expression that we are excited to explore in class, without judgement, and without expectation.

In Acting class, the only way to truly experience the euphoria of the amazing work, is to be truly present, to trust, and be trustworthy, and to share; to fully commit to oneself, to this moment, and to each other. To be YOU.

This is about being humans, not actors. And a key ingredient in any level of artistic fulfillment, is want; a want to learn, to grow, to experience and evolve; a want to be curious; a want to feel. Imagine this world.

We invite Artists to freely navigate the unveiling and development of their best selves, at all levels of that realization, and to freely explore their greatest and most truthful artistic expression and understanding; to welcome them to a safe space, where they can be authentic and purposeful, in gleefully choosing their own authentic first step, throughout the adventures of living truthfully under imaginary circumstances.

We’re betting they will discover that they had it in them all along.

Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced; humans welcome 😊
